Work and research experiences

Since 2006 is research associate at the Department of Geological, Environmental and Marine Sciences of the Trieste University.

Main research activities include: Shallow geophysics, geophysical data integration, GPR data processing and algorithm implementation, High resolution reflection seismic, signal attributes and connecting and integrating data related with different scientific fields. Research activities focus on geology, archaeology, environmental problems (pollution, liquid contaminants and brownfield), engineering and hydrogeology.

He was national and international project’s team member (e.g. EEC Project: HYGEIA 2003-2005 - Hybrid Geophysical technology for the Evaluation of Insidious contaminated Areas, TEMPUS project: ATECH 2004-2006 - Advanced Technology training programme for Cultural Heritage; Foreign Italian Ministry bilateral great relevance project Italy-Israel NICCOS 2007-2009 Non-Invasive Characterization of Contaminated Sites, several Italian main national project (PRIN): 2000, 2004. 2006

He is team leader of a project founded by the “fondo di ricerca d’ateneo” of Trieste University. He attended several national and international conferences and congresses, with his own contributions. He is author /co-author of more than 70 scientific papers on national and international journals and on conference proceedings. He was involved in several acquisition surveys and international expeditions e.g. in Egypt, Israel, Peru, Slovenia and Turkey. He is a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicist – SEG, of the European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers – EAGE, of the Italian section SEG-EAGE and reviewer for the International Union of Geological Sciences (USGS) for projects about Geosciences and cultural heritages.

Beside his research activities he also worked as consulting geophysicist, team leader or project geophysicist for public and private companies. Main professional projects include geophysical surveys for main public works (tunnels, regasification plants, undergrounds) and to archaeological heritage location and exploitation
